After working for 18+ years as a Licensed Professional  Civil Engineer in SE Michigan, I decided to do a career change to Secondary Education in 2011

Basic Facts

I was born in January of 1971.  It was a very good year.  Shortly after I was born, I was adopted by Mom & Dad.

Soon, Mom & Dad corrected living in Wisconsin and moved to Michigan.

I grew up in a town named Ortonville, about 1/2 way between Flint & Pontiac.

Education

I spent most of my school in Brandon Township, but my senior high school year was in Grand Rapids at Forest Hills Central.

My undergrad is in Civil & Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University (GO SPARTANS!)

My masters in Education was at UM Ann Arbor.

After my Bachelors degree, I decided to avoid the real world and join the Peace Corps.

I was sent to Pallatanga, Ecuador, South America, where I helped people get water and toilets into the homes.

I highly recommend to everybody to do something similar in their lives!

Peace Corps

I enjoy Dungeons & Dragons along with reading history and SF.

I am also a computer gamer:  Civilization, 4X, and the occasional MMO like EQ.  Right now, I am really looking forward to the next Fallout game.

My biggest joy, however, is my family!  See their pics above.

Work in Progress

Just a note:  This web site is a work in progress.  It will probably never really be 100% done.  The purpose is to provide my students a home base in which they can go to learn a little bit about me, but also to find info about topics that they may not really be understanding or may have missed in school.  This is not intended to replace attending class.  There will always be a lot more covered in class than will be done on here.  If you do miss school, it is your responsibility to figure out what you missed and how you are going to make it up.  Just sayin'.
